    NFTRC Enlightens Students

    Ngami Junior Secondary School students recently visited National Food Technology Research Centre to get some exposure on food processing. The group comprised of one hundred and twenty five form one to form three students and eight teachers.

    Speaking on an interview one of the teachers Ms Malebogo Seatso, said the purpose of their visit was to help students to gain some insight on how food processing is done.

    Ms Seatso applauded the organisation for the warm welcome, emphasising that on their future visits they would like to visit the NFTRC laboratories and pilot plant to have more exposure.

    Meanwhile Assistant Public Relations Officer, Kelebogile Mafoko encouraged the students to study hard, adding that if any of them would want to work in an organisation like NFTRC, they must do well in Sciences, Mathematics and English.

    On the same week, Standard six pupils accompanied by four teachers from Baobab English Medium Primary School also visited the Centre and they were briefed on the organisation’s products and services.

    The purpose of the visit was to use the outdoor environment as a classroom resource to enhance syllabus objectives in science and social studies.

    In an interview after watching the NFTRC corporate video, one of ninety pupils Motheo Floyd Mogapi, said he was very impressed with the presentation, and assured that he will share the knowledge he gained with her family and friends, because he now has an understanding of the organisation’s services, as well as some insight in food research.
