New NFTRC Board Members Inducted
National Food Technology Research Centre (NFTRC) recently welcomed two new board members following their appointment on 1st of December 2016.
The two are Dr Keoagile Fanoel Molapong (left), Deputy Permanent Secretary responsible for Support Services in the Ministry of Agriculture Development and Food Security and Ms Grace Ndi Sekwababe (middle) Senior Assistant Accountant General in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.
Dr Molapong is coming in as the NFTRC Board Chairperson, replacing Mr Boweditswe Masilo. It is anticipated that Ms Sekwababe, who is replacing Ms Lefentse Likokoto, will assume the chairpersonship of the Board’s Finance Tender and Audit sub-committee.

Dr Molapong and Ms Sekwababe were inducted on 1st and 28th February 2017 respectively by the Acting Managing Director, Dr Martin Kebakile.The purpose of the induction was to provide them with information about NFTRC and any support they need to be confident and productive in their roles.
Dr Kebakile said the new members are expected to understand NFTRC, the environment in which it operates and their expected roles in making it successful. In other words, the induction was organised to help the Directors “hit the ground running,” he said.
The two were introduced to the governing instruments, the strategic plan and the financial position of the institution, as well as the challenges it faces. The induction will continue by exposing the two to corporate governance training and the details of the institutional business. “We are very optimistic that the two directors will inject vigour and fresh thoughts to the board of directors of NFTRC,” said Dr Kebakile.
